Fun for the family, special events, and year-round things to do: see what's happening across Northeast Arkansas. Follow us on social media, visit the community calendar or check out monthly articles for ideas on where to play in NEA.
"Experiencing the community around me has always been a priority to me. Whether that is by going to local events or volunteering with local groups, I've always been an active person. As a Lawrence County native, I am excited to shed a little light on the small towns that have a lot to offer!"
Dabbling in a bit of everything, Gabby is starting a fresh start with MOR Media, Inc. this year. When she's not in the office creating some new content for NEA, she enjoys hiking with her husband, thrifting with friends, and playing with her pup, Astrid.
She loves trying new coffee shops wherever she goes. There is no bad time for a good cup of joe! Check out some of our favorite coffee shops in NEA!
"I wanted to write [for MOR Media] because I have always loved our small-town-style quadrant of Arkansas. From city to city, there is always a thriving downtown and supportive community members dedicated to restoration and history. I think the people in NEA are hidden gems, just like our downtown facades."
Stephanie Edwards is a teacher at Paragould High School. She holds a bachelor's in social studies education and a master's in gifted and talented students, both from Arkansas State University. Stephanie is a poetry and fiction writer actively seeking a literary agent for some of her works. Stephanie advocates for her two children, Rey and Aiden, both facing autism and other disabilities.
In her free time, Stephanie enjoys drawing, cooking, and reading. After work you can find her sifting through antique dishes, scouring a bookstore, or in a coffee shop window.
"Hi, my name is Justin Hetler. I was born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and I'm happy to call Northeast Arkansas my home. Working with Explore MOR gives me the opportunity to travel around NEA and share my insights on what's happening in your community. What you read in my articles will inspire you to take a journey with your family and friends and explore MOR(e) of your local community and more! You will definitely see my little 3-year-old niece Maelynn in the kid's section. She has the energy to get out and play, and she will be my inspiration to help you find what you can do with your family in NEA."
Be sure to keep an eye on all the fun stops Justin and Maelynn explore, like these indoor activities for when it's cold outside!
“Hi friends! My name is Emily and I’m a student at Arkansas State University. I am studying Creative Media Production with aspirations of becoming a sports reporter/journalist. In my free time, you will find me with friends, watching basketball, or catching up on some binge-worthy shows. You can usually catch me with either a Dr. Pepper or iced coffee in hand and perhaps on rare occasions, water.”
Emily began to write in high school when she was the yearbook and student newspaper editor. While taking on the many jobs that came with being an editor, she realized one of her true passions, writing. Upon arriving in Jonesboro to further her academic career, Emily has been diving in and utilizing all the opportunities that the journalism world and her new home in Northeast Arkansas have to offer!
